A celebrity instructor

Born in Manchester where he began his career as a hair stylist at 16 years old. At 21, he moved to London to work in Vidal Sassoon's famous academy, where he fine-tuned his skills and was able to grow professionally. At 28 he opened his first Mahogany salon in Oxford: it was here that he developed his philosophy, which is all based on “listening” . Richard Thompson, in fact, believes that a good hair stylist must seek to always find the solutions that are best suited to his clients, establishing with them a relationship based on reciprocal trust.

With this belief in mind, he created cutting and colouring techniques that were complementary to their personality and style. Richard created a styling team that in a short amount of time became one of the most famous and most successful in the country, even achieving international recognition. He founded 4 academies in Sydney, Sao Paulo, London, and Oxford, which immediately became points of reference for training hair stylists around the world.
